Prepare sermons? Why not plagiarize?

Of course you know I don't believe that! Sermon preparation should be hard work...pastors should labour in the Word of God spending sufficient time to thoroughly prepare to preach and to expound the text in focus. Now...there's nothing wrong with using someone's sermon, or quoting someone...after all, we're not creating the message, right? We're supposed to be expounding what God already said and applying it to our assemblies. As long as you credit the source you are using and you are not just downloading someone's outline, as opposed to doing any personal work yourself, it's no big deal. The goal is to expound the text...if someone else explains it better then use the material and quote the source.
Here is an interesting article on sermon plagiarism. Tell us what you think...and in the meantime:
2 Timothy 2:15- "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

I believe it is wrong for a pastor to get his sermons online. Pastors are chosen of God because of their ability to hear Him and impute His word to the flock, not to speak well and get the crowd energized. Paul wrote, “When I came to you, came not with excellency of speech” he used the words the Lord gave him. David also wrote, “Neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing”. I’ve read some of the tag lines on these pages saying, “when your just too busy...”, well I submit if you are too busy to prepare a word from the one true God for the flock He bestowed on you then you shouldn’t be a pastor.

Amen, exactly...but unfortunately too many pastors today are too busy going to conferences on how to grow their unspiritual churches and learning man-centered "techniques"...they're just too busy doing meaningless things to take the time to study the Word of God. So many look at exegesis and verse-by-verse teaching and think it's a waste of time...that's sad!

Thanks for the comment!
