What is the significance?

Today for my study time I read 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15. This text clearly speaks to the subject of Church discipline but it also teaches another important truth. Take the time to read the text for yourself and let me know what else is taught in the passage.

I look forward to reading what everyone finds. Post your comments on the blog or e-mail me at: tsrk30@sbcglobal.net

Hey I just got an account and am new to posting on blogs. Bro Hammack, Im sure you remember me from the email. Yeah, the main point in this one is church discipline, for sure, but I thought maybe the side point may be to note that the guy is a Christian, due to the "brother" reference. And even though we should not hang around with him we shouldnt count his as an enemy, but still as a friend or brother, and we should continue to try help him and no doubt pray for him that he may see his error and stop being "disorderly".

As I understand the word "admonish" the verse speaks to me that while breaking off fellowship, during the time that the brother is in error, that the will of the Father is for that one to be restored to the faith and fellowship.

Restoration should be an end goal of church discipline.
