The Hidden Gospel?

In the light of the John 3:16 conference which sure didn't do much to propel the anti-calvinism agenda of a good portion of the S. Baptist convention...I wonder what they would do to the following verse I came across tonight as I prepared to preach?

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Doesn't this verse teach that the gospel is hidden by God from those who believe not? Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the hidden God...God is revealed in Christ because Christ veiled God's glory. This is the shekinah glory of God veiled in human flesh...perfectly and inseparably combined in the beautiful God-man!

But the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. Can that person overcome Satan's power...or does it take the power of God to remove that blinding and shine on them so they can believe? I think this is the sovereignty of God again making someone who CANNOT BELIEVE able to believe...
